ICTIO card game

The ICTIO card game has been developed by the Freshwater Ecology Research Group (Institute of Aquatic Ecology, University of Girona) and aims to make everyone aware of the great diversity of fish that inhabit our waters in a fun and entertaining way..

The rivers, lakes, ponds and wetlands are the freshwater ecosystems where the ICTIO game takes place. Those who play learn concepts such as habitat, migration, endangered species and invasive species, and about the importance and issues that affect them. The protagonists of the game are the 29 species of fish native to Catalonia, and the 24 most important exotic species. The winner is the one who manages to recreate the habitat that contains the most vulnerable species, that is, those that are currently in the worst condition. It has different levels of difficulty that allows it to be used in both primary and secondary.
